Virgo, January 2010

Your Stars:
Remember in the Wizard of Oz when the old professorial fraud was exposed as just a man behind the curtain before he had to come clean with the only thing he really did know?  And, of course, what he knew and what we all came to collectively find out was that everything we need, including all the answers, are always inside each one of us all the time?  Remember?  Well, this month Scarecrow you need to move away from all those intellectual thoughts that you are constantly stuffing into your brain and take a lesson from the lion.  In other words, this is THE month for you to follow your heart while leaving your head completely out of it.  But, while we’re speaking of completely; you will also need to complete some old affairs and business before moving into the New Year in total confidence and commitment.  With you ruling planet, Mercury the Messenger, in retrograde until January 15 you just might find that your usual aplomb, organization and efficiency are veering off down a Yellow Brick Road that you never even saw until a house landed on you…or something like that.  Give the big brain a bigger break while this retrograde cycle circles around your 5th House of True Love (and Creativity and Children too!)  If you want to unscramble the emotional egg that these energies promise or even unblock your creative energies then you’ll have to dig deep within and find the way down that personally powerful path that way.  Otherwise, beware of flying monkeys.  Until the middle of the month only!  That’s when you can expect a decided change of direction as a New Moon eclipse in Capricorn rises as Mercury begins moving forward again.  Oh happy day!  Literally.  But, first, let’s look a little closer at the earlier times especially when Mercury meets up with the Sun on the 4th allowing you opportunities to be as bright as that orb and express yourself with the same sort of brilliance.  Talking will take over the early days so use this energy to your very persuasive advantage.  And, then, when the Sun and Venus head off to make their own magic on the 11th around the north node of the Moon, you’ll be able to offer your charismatic, charming self to support all the chatter you’ve been doing.  Be sure to not only employ all your natural charm but to give it a job as well.  If you use it on the job, even better.  Now, as mentioned, Mercury turns direct on the 15th with a flourish while the New Moon eclipse that happens on that same day brightens up and brings a good glimpse of an even better future.  Make plans.  And then make way because pretty soon your own perfect pair of ruby slippers are going to be delivered directly to your doorstep.  Especially as Venus dances her way into your 6th House of Work on January 18th.  Allow the unfamiliar to feel fine and cooperate with the colleagues and co-workers.  Word to the wise.  Some annoying energies do resurface end month espeicaly when a chaotic Venus-Uranus semi-square takes you outside your Winner’s Circle.  Oh, just let the big bag of hot air take off realizing that sometimes you just gotta let people go before you can let other more productive partnerships in.  The Full Moon on the 30th is stirring up some trouble with aggressive Mars so you’ll be well advised to stay out of that fray as well.  Pretty soon things will settle down, the wicked witch will melt away as will most of your current trials and tribulations.  You’ll see.  It’s all as close as your own backyard.

Your Shui:
This month gives you permission to stop being the one who’s always giving, giving, giving while also encouraging you to sit back and do some receiving.  But, first and foremost the month also gifts you with the opportunity to take a break from the a big brain of yours and go deep within to access answers to some of life’s most wonderful treasures.  They’re like a city of emeralds just waiting for you to come calling.  So call already will ya?  And while you’re dialing:  sit with your back straight and imagine that you’re pulling a periscope out of the top of your head and keep pulling until that up periscope is peering out about a few feet above your whole head.  Now, look through the periscope and begin to assess and observe the external world all around you.  Remember that now you only the witness, the observer.  This ancient Russian remedy next advises that anytime you’re faced with difficult or even ‘impossible’ situations you should immediately raise your periscope and observe from a bystander’s point of view what’s happening in your world.  The idea is that you will be much better able to not only assess but also to resolve any chaotic or confusing situation once you have affirmatively and proactively removed yourself from it.  Bigger picture pal!  Everything gets easier when you’re looking at life through this eye view.  And if you find that you really need to let something or someone go, then write their name on a piece of paper and, then, with the lit end of a white candle, burn that paper in a burning bowl.  Ahhhh, all better now.
